through wearable ceramics, EXO seeks to create harmony between the wearer and the world around them, providing both a profound aesthetic and emotional experience and inviting the viewer to reflect on vulnerability and protection.
this wearable ceramic collection is inspired by the concept of protection, both physical and psychological. each ceramic exoskeleton functions as a symbolic armor, exploring how people seek safety not only from external threats but also from internal challenges such as anxiety and vulnerability. the exoskeletons draw from Estonian folklore and natural protective structures, blending traditional symbols – like scales, crosses, squares – with contemporary ideas of self-reflection and psychoanalytic concepts such as altruism, intellectualization, and sublimation.
